Shop / buck knives fixed blade
In 1902, a young Kansas blacksmith apprentice named Hoyt Buck was on the hunt for a better way to temper steel in order to create knives that would hold an edge for a longer period of time. Using a unique approach, he produced the first Buck Knife. Each knife was painstakingly crafted by hand, using worn-out file blades as raw material. During World War II, the demand for his handiwork grew significantly.
After finishing his time in the navy, Hoyt's eldest son Al moved from the Pacific Northwest to San Diego, California. In 1945, Hoyt and his wife Daisy joined Al and his young family, and they set up shop as H.H. Buck and Son. Following his father's passing, Al continued the custom knife business until incorporating Buck Knives, Inc. in 1961. Al's son, Chuck, was introduced to the knife business at a young age and, along with his wife Lori, became involved in the company when it was incorporated.
In 1964, Buck Knives revolutionized the knife industry with the introduction of the Model 110 Folding Hunter, establishing themselves as leaders in the field. Chuck served as President and CEO for many years before passing the reins to his son, CJ, in 1999. Chuck remained active as Chairman of the Board until his passing in 2015. Lori now serves on the Board of Directors and is actively involved with Buck promotional events throughout the U.S., continuing Chuck's legacy.
Buck Knives are designed to withstand tough conditions and stay sharp for extended periods, making them perfect for activities such as hunting, camping, bushcrafting, fishing, hiking, and overlanding. The drop point blade is hand-sharpened and ideal for caping and small game, while the S35VN steel material is known for its toughness and durability.
The knife comes with a lightweight polypropylene sheath that allows for different carrying methods, and the versatile handle is contoured for palm swells, providing added grip and improving ergonomics. Additionally, Buck's signature Paul Bos heat treat process ensures that each blade is tempered to the appropriate Rockwell Hardness, giving longer edge life and ease of resharpening.
Each Buck knife is backed by Buck's Forever Warranty, guaranteeing that it will be free of defects in material and workmanship for the life of the knife.
