Shop / buck knives fixed blade
In 1902, a young Kansas blacksmith apprentice named Hoyt Buck developed a unique method for tempering steel to create the first Buck Knife. Using worn-out file blades as raw material, he handcrafted each knife and his work became greatly appreciated during World War II.
After relocating to San Diego, California, following a stint in the navy, Hoyt's eldest son Al, along with his wife Daisy, set up shop as H.H. Buck and Son in 1945. After his father's death, Al continued the custom knife business until incorporating Buck Knives, Inc. in 1961. Al involved his son Chuck and his wife Lori in the business, and in 1964, the company revolutionized the knife industry with the Model 110 Folding Hunter, establishing Buck Knives as a leader in the field.
After serving as President and CEO for many years, Chuck handed over the reins to his son, CJ, in 1999, and remained active as Chairman of the Board until his passing in 2015. Lori continues to be actively involved in Buck promotional events throughout the U.S., carrying on Chuck's legacy.
Buck Knives are designed to withstand tough conditions and stay sharp for long periods, making them great for hunting, camping, bushcrafting, fishing, hiking, and overlanding. The versatile drop point blade is hand-sharpened, perfect for detailed work, and made of 420HC steel for toughness and durability. The knife comes with a lightweight polypropylene sheath for convenient carrying, and the contoured fiberglass handle provides added grip and ergonomics, which can be easily removed for cleaning.
Buck's signature Paul Bos heat treat process ensures that each blade is tempered to the appropriate Rockwell Hardness, providing longer edge life and ease of resharpening. Additionally, every Buck knife is backed by Buck's Forever Warranty, guaranteeing that it will be free of defects in material and workmanship for the life of the knife.
