Shop / buck knives fixed blade
In 1902, a young Kansas blacksmith apprentice named Hoyt Buck developed a unique approach to tempering steel in order to create a longer-lasting edge. This innovative method resulted in the first Buck Knife. Using worn-out file blades as raw material, Hoyt crafted each knife by hand, and his work gained recognition during World War II. After completing his navy service and relocating to San Diego, Hoyt's eldest son Al, along with his wife Daisy, welcomed Hoyt and founded H.H. Buck and Son in 1945. Following his father's passing, Al continued the custom knife business until incorporating Buck Knives, Inc. in 1961. Al's son, Chuck, also became involved in the family business at a young age, and in 1964, Buck Knives revolutionized the industry with the introduction of the Model 110 Folding Hunter, solidifying their position as a leader in the field.
Chuck eventually became President and CEO, passing the reins to his son, CJ in 1999, while remaining active as Chairman of the Board until his passing in 2015. Lori, Chuck's wife, now serves on the Board of Directors and continues to be involved in Buck promotional events, carrying on Chuck's legacy.
Buck Knives are designed to withstand tough conditions and maintain sharpness, making them ideal for hunting, camping, bushcrafting, fishing, hiking, and overlanding. The hand-sharpened drop point blade, made of S35VN steel known for its durability, is versatile and suitable for detailed work such as skinning. The knife also comes with a lightweight polypropylene sheath for convenient carrying, and the contoured fiberglass handle provides added grip and ergonomics, and can be removed for easy cleaning. Each blade is tempered using Buck's signature Paul Bos heat treat process, ensuring long edge life and ease of resharpening. Additionally, every Buck knife is backed by the Forever Warranty, guaranteeing it to be free of defects in material and workmanship for the life of the knife.
