Shop / buck knives fixed blade
Hoyt Buck, a young Kansas blacksmith apprentice, was seeking a better way to temper steel so that it could maintain its sharpness for a longer period of time. His innovative method led to the creation of the very first Buck Knife in 1902. Using worn-out file blades as raw material, Hoyt handcrafted each knife himself. During World War II, his craftsmanship was highly valued. After completing his service in the navy, Hoyt's eldest son Al moved from the Pacific Northwest to San Diego, California. In 1945, Hoyt and his wife Daisy joined Al and his young family, and together they established H.H. Buck and Son. Following Hoyt's passing, Al kept the small custom knife business running until incorporating Buck Knives, Inc. in 1961. Al involved his son Chuck and Chuck's wife, Lori, in the business early on, and they both played key roles in the company's incorporation. The introduction of the Model 110 Folding Hunter in 1964 revolutionized the knife industry and solidified Buck Knives as a leading force in the field. Chuck eventually served as President and CEO before passing the reins to his son, CJ, in 1999. He continued to be active as Chairman of the Board until his death in 2015, while Lori remains involved with the company and serves on the Board of Directors. Buck Knives are known for their durability and multi-use functionality, making them ideal for activities such as hunting, camping, bushcrafting, fishing, hiking, and overlanding. The versatile drop point blade, made of tough S35VN steel, is perfect for caping, small game, skinning, and various other tasks. The knife also comes with a lightweight polypropylene sheath for convenient carrying, and features a contoured fiberglass handle for improved ergonomics and grip. Buck's signature Paul Bos heat treat process ensures that each blade is tempered to the appropriate Rockwell Hardness, providing longer edge life and ease of resharpening. Furthermore, every Buck knife is backed by Buck's Forever Warranty, guaranteeing that it will be free of defects in material and workmanship for the life of the knife. This commitment to quality and durability reflects the legacy of the Buck family's dedication to producing high-quality knives that have stood the test of time.
